Wade Linear from Alumasc specified in Heart of Hale Regeneration Scheme

A bespoke drainage package

Alumasc Water Management Solutions have worked closely with contractors and installers on a pivotal new placemaking project, to supply a bespoke package of Wade Linear Drainage channels at London’s next up-and-coming affordable neighbourhood.

Welbourne forms part of the Heart of Hale Regeneration Scheme in Tottenham Hale. It was designed by Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects and delivered by main contractor United Living New Homes, for Related Argent. The new development comprises 131 new council homes, a central health centre, retail space, landscaped areas and roof terraces. The project is part of the £500 million ‘Strategic Development Partnership’, a collaboration developed between Related Argent and Haringey Council, and will serve around 30,000 local people.

Wade’s technical team made numerous visits to site, assisting the main contractor with the specification of the required channels and outlets. The objective was to provide a robust drainage solution that could withstand the footfall of a busy community hub, whilst excelling in terms of drainage performance.

A bespoke package of Wade NE Linear drainage channels and outlets, with Streamline gratings, was specified for the flooring areas, balconies and terraces across the whole development. The Linear drainage range offers stainless steel channels in a variety of profiles, generally with in-built falls towards the outlets. Side bars and folds are made so that the selected grating fits flush with the show edges.

Wade linear drainage

Wade Linear drainage channels offer load classes A15, B125, C250 & D400 depending on the channel type. Load class is achieved when installed with a grating of same or higher class, in accordance with Wade installation guidelines. The range is BS EN 1433 compliant, and offers easy maintenance by directing a jet of water along the channel towards the outlet.

Profiles are available to cater for varying volumes of water in most applications, from public buildings, healthcare and leisure facilities, to hygiene environments and food/drink manufacturing; with options to suit any flooring finish.

To complete the AWMS drainage solution at the project, Flushjoint downpipes from Alumasc Rainwater were specified for the residential buildings and health centre. Flushjoint is a contemporary range of extruded aluminium downpipes with concealed spigots which give a smooth, clean finish to perfectly complement the minimalist layout of the building’s terraces and balconies. The Flushjoint system was supplied with a circular downpipe profile, and BBA approved polyester powder coated, to colour match the project’s rustic red metalwork. Flushjoint is inherently lightweight, easy to install and is 100% recyclable.
